Got this thing mainly for taking camping,whether with wife and kids or festivals(small ones not the likes of t in the park for fear of it getting nicked).It might seem a bit excessive but sometimes our group of friends have parties in rural spots so its good to have the firepower when called upon and this thing has plenty,good solid bass and all round sound even at half volume.
My only concern before I bought was how quick scrolling through 40 gig worth of ipod menu would be with it being behind a door but the remote does a good job,not as quick as the pod wheel itself but if I need to get from one end of the menu to the other fast I can always open the door while playing and work the wheel.
The good thing with this model is the audio in line to allow connectivity for allsorts such as a tv or non ipod mp3s. The usb and guitar input I prob wont use but is always there as an option.The 4 preset sound modes and bass level control are all thats needed for an outdoor stereo although some would disagree.......

Well packaged and arrived quickly. Ok Review time. This is the first Mac that we (My wife and I) have ever owned. Takes a bit of getting used to and I don't know if it's better than Windows at this stage. I'm sure it's a great machine and does everything that windows can do, but takes a bit of practice and playing around with (As you do) to find out. Layout of the keyboard is well thought out as the spacing between the letters is designed in a way that you don't hit the wrong key by accident. It's practical also BUT DOESN'T FEEL SMALL which is surprising as it's only a 13" screen. Measurement of the screen horizontally is just shy of one foot and height is just over 7".

 Obviously the width of the Mac is over that but as it's the screen size that's important. Maybe an important feature (I don't know) is that the keyboard lights up when in use....could be useful in bed whilst your partner is asleep and you don't want to disturb then too much. It is also very quiet; there's no noisy fans etc....Unless you're playing a movie or listening to itunes through the built in speakers.
It also feels robust and heavy for it's size and you can tell it's not made from plastic. It also looks good, but visit any Apple store or Stormfront and you'll see that............

I am not going to go into any technical details as there are a whole host of reviews that can be uncovered by a simple google search, instead I want to concentrate more on the "feel" of the Air

First impressions are... wow. I had tested one in the Apple store several times, but it is hard to appreciate its size and portability until you own one. I seem to find myself randomly picking it u just to spin it round and marvel at it's size and weight. If any thing it is a little too portable, I took it out for the first time on Thursday, and couldn't even tell it was in my bag. So much so that my paranoia of protecting my shiny new toy kicked in and I found myself opening my bag every five minutes to check I had not been pick pocketed. Hopefully this paranoia will wear off after a few weeks.

Aa a previous Windows fan and Windows 7 user I was a little sceptical about swithching to a mac and not too sure how hard it would be to adapt to using a new operating system. A few days of messing around have proved my fears were unjustified and I have actually enjoyed and still am enjoying the learning curve, infact after only two days of using my Macbook Air I logged back onto my Windows PC and found that I kept trying to use multi-touch which is a part of the new Lion OS.

The model I purchased was the upgraded 1.8Ghz i7 with a 128Gb Hard drive and 4Gb Ram, and compared to my 2 year old 2.13 Ghz dual core Windows laptop this feels a lot faster and more polished. The size of the hard drive was a concern coming from a larger 3.5 inch SATA styl hard drive, however this is easily remedied by keeping most of my videos and music on a small and inexpensive (£80 for 1Tb) external hard drive................

Half the time it won't connect to WiFi at all, the rest of the time it drops the WiFi and refuses to reconnect without a very great deal of messing about. Definitely a good product. It does have the multimedia essentials (HD display and HDMI output) and more (Blu-ray) and I liked the keyboard layout (perfect for fat finger individuals like myself) . I will be honest that I did not run anything that would test the machine to the extreme but like other Lenovo/IBM pc the way it is built gives you the sense of reliability.

The only thing that it would have is the docking capability of the Thinkpad series, which would allow you to run in your home office like a desktop............................

Disappointed Good product design but welding mark on docking unit. Sound is not very loud, with some devices, although the quality of sound is good. Radio station cannot be stored although it states it can be and unfortunately the buttons on remote are hard to press. It does charge your IPhone though. Bought this Laptop for the good i5 processor speed, massive 8Gb RAM, and storage capacity (1 TB HDD).

Laptop feels sturdy but light weight with a great keyboard and touch pad. Battery life is good and is definately an upgrade from my old Toshiba laptop.

The spec on the Amazon website is exact except for under the product description, which appears to be copied from the Samusung website and lists there is a Nvidia GeForce 540M dedicated graphics card. This is not the case for this model number (NP-RF511-A01UK). Graphics is handled by the onboard Intel HD Graphics 3000. But this is still more than enough for playing DVD's and doing eveyday computer use without slowing the computer down. If you want to play high end games you might need to look elsewhere............
