This is a seriously nice little machine for light use. It is perfect for surfing the web and writing documents with something like OpenOffice. Installing Chrome will also improve the experience over Internet Explorer. The modern processor and 2GB of RAM really make a difference over lower specced netbooks, though of course a fully fledged notebook or laptop would have much more power. Instead of power, what you get is a light and slim machine that is easy to take around with you. The build quality is fine - but not ulta-solid - I wouldn't like to drop it or give it a knock - this isn't a brick. The keys are a little thin feeling, but they are light to touch, and I find them easy to use....................

Acer have always offered higher specification machines for the price when compared to other brands and this is no exception.
The Core I3 processor is at the lower end of the new Core series by Intel, but compared to old pentium and core 2 duos there's no comparison. so this will be more than enough for any average user. I upgraded from a much older machine and the difference is ridiculous, with 6gb of ram as well compared to my old 1gb, you might as well be flying............

Firstly, aesthetics. I have the 'grey' one, and for those who may be concerned about the purple tint, it's very subtle. It's effectively a dark grey with a touch of colour to make it more interesting, and it's very tastefully done. The all-metal exterior looks excellent and despite its small size the tablet and keyboard combination is weighty, giving it a very solid feel. Everyone I've shown it to has commented on the fact it looks good, so you're golden here.
Performance wise it's very snappy, as you'd expect. The ICS update won't start until you've got 15% charge in the tablet, but is very fast after that, taking about 5 minutes for me. I haven't noticed any discernible lag anywhere, and that's on the balanced setting not the performance one. Multi-tasking on ICS is perfect, with one button tap on any screen pulling up the active tasks list, and simply flicking the tasks you don't want off the screen to close them. I've thrown various HD games and videos etc. at it and it's performed without hesitation. Web browsing is good on the default browser though I updated to Dolphin HD as I prefer the interface...........

I received this laptop a few weeks ago so I now feel like I can give an honest review about it. I found this laptop after searching for a reasonably priced laptop but with decent features and decided to purchase it, and I'm so glad I did.
The pro's;
excellent speed - with 8gb of RAM,a decent intel processor and handy features such as pre made battery options makes this laptop lightning fast.
hard drive - it is split into two sections, allowing you to run windows 7 alongside another operating system if you wish. I find this feature very handy as I run ubuntu 12.04 with no problems, but it allows me to have windows 7 for certain programs.
quality screen - The brilliant speed makes watching HD content online a breeze. I frequently watch bbc Iplayer in HD and the screen has a nice brightness and crisp feel to it.
keyboard - Ive owned a wide range of laptops in the past but I find this keyboard one of the most satisfying to use................
